After 82 nights of cheering for our Suns, Playoffs have finally come. Unfortunately, our first series is a match up against the Spurs. Good for revenge, but not so good for an easy first round.

In anticipation of the first game, Dave and I had some friends over to BBQ and enjoy the game. Despite the fact that we lost it was still a great game. Double OT is always good in my book. It was so close that I was fairly confident that game two would go to us. After a great first half I was feeling pretty sure that my prediction would come true, but when the third quarter began all hope was lost. The Spurs went on an 8-0 run and continued to out score us the rest of the game. With 5 minutes left in the game I had to quit watching, it was just too painfully. And to be honest, I was getting really mad.

Earlier on the day of game two this conversation took place:

Dave: "Want to go to a playoff game Raquel? I know you've been talking about it for a long time."

Raquel: "Do I want to go?! Of course I want to go! Let's go to the next home game of this round."

Dave: "okay, I'll get the tickets."

Six hours later:

Raquel: "There is no way I want to go to a game. I don't want to spend money to get pissed off."

Dave: "Sorry. Too late, I already bought them."

So, I get all optimistic and excited about the game as I listen to Sport Center and hear every one predict a double digit win over the Spurs.

Decked out in our Planet Orange Dave and I are already for the game to begin. We get off to a bit of a rocky start but we think no big deal we've still have three more quarters to go. We couldn't have been more wrong. Every quarter of the game was like a repeat of the third quarter from round 2. We were out scored, out coached, and out defended. It was embarrassing! And I was ticked. Never have the Suns lost three in a row, and never has Tony Parker score 41 points in his career. It was ugly. We didn't lead once the entire game. At least last year we had good excuses for loosing to the Spurs; cheap shots, bad refs, bloody noses, ect. This year we were just bad.

Fly Away

I was wrong, the birds didn't go away and still will not. I think they are stocking us. They are also leaving a large amout of poop on my sidewalk and rocks.

Today there were two birds that sat in my front yard all morning long. When I walked up to them to see if they were hurt they didn't move. They are now gone and I am confused.

The Digital Age

Since I gave up scrap booking awhile back (it got too frilly and expensive for me) I have been trying to figure out the best way to organize my photos. After, discovering digital photo journals I decided that it was the way to go. Since then I have been using My Publisher to create lost of journals. Unfortunately, the last journal I had printed was terrible quality and left me wishing I had used a different publisher. So I spent many days looking online for a publisher that would meat my needs. After reading a blog entry posted by my friend Kayla I finally found what I had been looking for.

Blup (funny name, cool site) has great software that allows you to make beautiful books at the same price as those other guys. So far I have only designed two pages but I am loving it! I think the book is going to turn out really nice. I'm looking forward to seeing what the print quality is like. I'll keep you pun intended ;)

Sorry I have nothing else to write about

I was living in Austin, Texas and about to complete my first year at Bailey Middle School, which was a huge achievement considering the heck I had to go through being the "new kid" in middle school. By this point in the school year I was beginning to make friends and really enjoying myself as a sprinter on the school's track team. I absolutely loved competing in the 800M relay!

5 Things on my to do list
Finish painting my last hallway door in order to be completely done painting the familyroom
Return my library book, "The Strong Willed Child" (I have many at my school)
Pull weeds
Mail my NetFlix back
Enjoy my weekend

5 Snacks I love
Mini rice cakes (too bad they are ridiculously expensive)
Cheese and crackers
Mixed nuts

5 Places I've lived
Mesa, AZ
Mesa, AZ
Austin, TX
Mesa, AZ
Flagstaff, AZ
Mesa, AZ

In that order, notice a pattern?! I just can't stay away from this place!

What would I do if I suddenly became a Billionaire
I would visit all the places in the world that I currently can only dream of ever seeing. Since the money would last my whole life time I would never stop going places. Dave and I would become like that couple on Discovery Channel's 100 Places to See Before You Die. Then we would pick our favorite and build a home there. It would be great.

5 Jobs I've had
SunSplash Lifeguard (woot woot)
Cook and cashier for Chick-fil-a
Swim Instructor
Kids Corner Aid
Personnel Coordinator

7 Things you probably don't know about me
I never cry during movies, give me the saddest movie you can think of and I promise you it won't make me cry. Not sure what that means about me.?
I hate cats.
I have this stupid habit of going to the grocery store and seeing something that I need to buy and not putting it in the cart. Later I realize how bad I needed it and I then end up having to make a separate trip just for that one item.
I've always wished that I had a talent for singing.
I know how to pick a door lock.
I can't do the splits.
I played the saxophone for 6 years.
